Major Instrumentation granted for Clinic for Neurosurgery
The Clinic for Neurosurgery under the direction of Prof. Dr. Ulrich Sure was able to acquire major instrumentation for intraoperative imaging as part of a state major instrumentation grant of the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft. Under this programme, major instrumentation is procured for German universities and university clinics and financed by the states/universities. The DFG is commissioned by the states to review proposals for major instruments that are to be used for research, teaching and training, or for medical care. The funds can serve this purpose either directly or indirectly. The robot-supported X-ray device is particularly well suited for patients who, for example, expect difficult operating conditions due to comorbidity. In this way, patients with complex neurosurgical diseases can be optimally treated in the future.
